List of NDAA Compliant Security Cameras

Section 889 of the National Defense Authorization Act, better known as the NDAA, prohibits federal government agencies, contractors, and loan or grant recipients from purchasing or even using any equipment that was produced by Hikvision or Dahua aka (Hikhua), Huawei, ZTE, Hytera or any of their subsidiaries. Since the Act was passed security professionals and businesses alike have had a tough time finding a comprehensive list of NDAA compliant security cameras and other surveillance equipment.

Beginning August 13, 2019 Section 889(a)(1)(A) of the NDAA prevented the federal government from procuring or obtaining or extending or renewing a contract to procure or obtain any equipment, system, or service that uses covered telecommunication equipment or services as a substantial or essential component of any system, or as critical technology as part of any system.

Beginning August 13, 2020 Section 889(a)(1)(B) of the NDAA prohibited the federal government from entering into or extending or renewing contracts with any entity that uses any equipment, system, or service that uses covered telecommunication equipment or services as a substantial or essential component of any system, or as critical technology as part of any system.

For contractors, the penalty for using, selling or even servicing any banned equipment would be the immediate loss of any currently held Governement Contracts and exclusion from future government contracts that may become available.

Below is a list of companies whose equipment is mostly, if not completely, compliant with the NDAA. This includes NDAA compliant security cameras, NVR’s and other surveillance and security equipment.
